It was a beacon a lighthouse illuminating the horrid state of the games I was playing. Back then, it's freedom, pixelated beauty, and atmosphere of mystery and exploration drew me like a magnet. Overall I've had a lot of fun with my blocky creations and because of an internet cap I can't play multiplayer. Although Technic does add a whole new meaning to the word "lost". Technic pack is one of my favorites because I don't actually have to mess with Minecraft's files. On top of being fun in Vanilla this game is veryyyy easily modded. If I were to define "Sandbox" I would say "Minecraft". All jokes aside theres no other game that really intrudes on Minecraft's genre. Seriously set a kid up in a Minecraft world they wont leave the computer.
The old style of graphics, huge worlds, infinite possibilities of creation, unique enemies that attack at night, farming, mining, swimming, exploring, setting up defenses, etc. No other game I have ever played is even remotely similar to Minecraft.
